I have grown up being a massive Georgia sports fan. I have always watched the Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Georgia Bulldogs. There is just something that is so special about these teams that will always bring a smile to my face. The gameday atmosphere for each of these teams is very energetic, but also different and enjoyable. Weaning the team’s apparel, jumping and screaming when your team scores a touchdown, hits a home run, scores a basket, and singing and dancing to songs with thousands of other loyal and faithful fans is special to me. At each stadium you’ll hear the many different chants or slogans of each team. You’ll hear the chants, “GO DAWGS SIC EM” or even barking at Sanford Stadium in Athens. On Sundays you’ll hear the chants of, “RISE UP” at Mercedes Benz Stadium. Right across the street at State Farm Arena you’ll hear the chants of, “A-T-L” or Let’s Go Hawks”. Then lastly over at Truist Park you’ll hear and see fans doing the iconic Tomahawk Chop no matter what the inning is. Georgia sports really have deep traditions that the fans hold onto dearly. Some more reasons as to why Georgia sports are valuable to me are those anticipated rivalry games. There is always something about a rivalry game that just fires up the fans no matter college or professional, even when there are playoff implications on the line. Best believe that will always be a fiery passion and high emotions especially if the two teams are from the same state are playing each other. Watching these teams battle it out in the fields and court is fun but it is also making memories that will last a lifetime. You can be watching the game at the stadium or on your couch supporting the men who wear those uniforms always brings levels of excitement.
